A worried couple going through home loan paperwork in their lounge

Debt and credit

A way through debt, negotiated.

Debt problems grow quietly. We step in early, deal with creditors directly and look for terms you can actually afford.

Our approach

Credit providers have lawyers and collection departments. You should have someone on your side too. We look at your agreements and your rights under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005, negotiate with the credit provider before matters reach court, and defend you when they do.

Debt and credit

What we handle.

  1. 01

    Blacklisting and credit bureaus

Disputing incorrect or outdated listings with the credit bureaus, and explaining what your credit record says.

  2. 02

    Vehicle and home loan finance

Arrears, disputed balances and finance terms that were never properly explained to you.

  3. 03

    Repossession and summonses

If you face repossession or have received a summons on a credit agreement, we look at your rights, negotiate with the credit provider and defend the claim where there is a defence.

  4. 04

    Removal from debt review

Getting out of debt review once you qualify, and challenging debt review that was not applied lawfully.

  5. 05

    Garnishee orders

Challenging emoluments attachment orders (garnishee orders) that are irregular, unaffordable or no longer owed.

  6. 06

    Prescribed debt

Most ordinary debts prescribe after three years under the Prescription Act 68 of 1969, unless the debt was acknowledged or legal action interrupted it. We deal with creditors who still pursue them.

Mediation first

Why mediation works here.

We start at the table because, in these matters, it usually gives the better result.

  • Early is cheaper

Talking to a credit provider before judgment keeps more options open, and costs less.

  • Terms you can keep

An arrangement that fits your budget is one you can actually keep up with.

  • Know where you stand

We explain your position plainly, so you are not negotiating in the dark.
